Sports Fans

Yesterday we played Dallas. When we showed up we were met by
My friends Dayna and Steven. They run Suffer City Tattoo's and
were gracious enough to open up there shop for us. Justin, Otto and
I headed down to get some ink....

As you can see Rachel, there were no tears! HA!
We played the Gypsy Tea House. They have an artist who comes
down every week to paint images of upcoming shows on one of the
walls of the club.

The show was awesome.
Tonight we have a day off in St. Louis. This is one of those cities in
America that i know nothing about. So being here is rather abstract.
There is a baseball game raging at the stadium right by the hotel.
And the hotel lobby is swarming with fans all wearing team jerseys.
I did a documentary on football supporters preceding the last world
cup for EA sports. I traveled to 20 cities around the world in 40 days.
Sports fans are an interesting bunch. I discovered that football (what
Americans call soccer) is more like a religion that personifies the
epic struggle of mankind on the field. I've never really thought that
American sport had the same level of intensity due to the fact that
the society here doesn't have the level of regional prejudice that
exists in Europe.
An Italian who supported Roma said to me "The defeat of our cousins
is more important than the victory of our team".
